This Week's Menu

This is what is going to be on our plates this week.
Weekly menu planning is a great way to save money.
You not only use up what you have,
but you don't make as many trips to the grocery store
where you inevitably buy items you
weren't originally planning on buying.
Those extra shopping trips add up!

Monday
Chicken & Veggie Stir-fry
(my way of cleaning out the vegetable bin)
Leftover Mongolian Beef
Fried Rice

Tuesday
Corned Beef & Cabbage

Wednesday
Grilled Salmon
Rice Pilaf
Sweet Potato Oven-baked Fries

Thursday
Skillet Beef & Noodles
Carrots w/ Garlic

Friday
Leftovers

Saturday/Sunday
More Leftovers!! :D

What's on your menu this week?

Hi Adriel,

I plan meals for 2 weeks and only go grocery shopping every 2 weeks. I agree it definitely saves money because I only go to the grocery store twice a month! Also, I just started my garden a few weeks ago and am hoping (because I am doing square foot gardening) that it will help provide some fresh produce as opposed to having to buy the overpriced stuff in the store. I do a crock pot meal once a week which is great to be able to start in the morning and then take care of other things during the day. As it gets warmer (which I am hoping will be soon here in WA) I will switch the crock pot night to fresh salad, taco, chicken caesar etc.
I am going to respond to your email very soon. I had planned on responding on your birthday last Thursday (see I remember after all these years) but my great plans didn't happen. So happy belated birthday and I'll email soon.

Kathyryn, what a nice surprise to see a comment from you! That is great you do two weeks at a time. I've done that as well and it is really nice to get what you need all at one time. The hard thing I have with a two-week shopping trip are the vegetables and fruit. I need fresh ones pretty much every week. My veggies just don't last for 2 weeks. So, I usually end up making a trip once a week. I've also been trying to do shopping once a week to get the deals. My husband and I decided to give the whole coupon thing a try and it is starting to make sense finally and I'm getting better at it. A meal plan helps us eat at home instead of being unprepared and eating out. Oh, and I LOVE my crockpot also! =)

Angel, thank you for your comment and kind words. I think it's fun to post my menu and see what other bloggers are making and get new ideas for dinner. Trying new things is fun and easier to do when it's on your menu plan! =)
